Brand Ambassadors for Amazon PORT x Cannes Lions

For the first time in 2022, the e-commerce and cloud services giant is participating in Cannes Lions and occupying part of the Cannes harbour: the “Amazon Port” experience is born.

With a space of 2,500 square metres set up on the Pantiero, it includes various areas: conference and private spaces, a stage hosting concerts, shows and performances. It also has a leisure area, notably for wellness sessions, as well as a yacht at the quayside to welcome VIP guests.

For this first participation in Cannes Lions, Amazon wanted an agency with whom they could work closely on the construction of their project over the long term. Finding an agency that could provide solid expertise and personalised support in defining their staffing needs was essential. Amazon therefore called on Agence Bonjour to collaborate on this project and to define the most relevant job profiles. With the stand offering different poles and multiple activities, the demand for multi-skilled staff was a real challenge.

The project was built with Amazon 6 months before the start of Cannes Lions. Our client came up with a global project and we were able to provide all our expertise. We quantified the number of brand ambassadors needed to ensure that the service ran smoothly, i.e. 80 staff. In addition, we defined the positions according to the different areas: orientation, reception, badge distribution, meeting room management, VIP reception, etc.

The definition of the number and characteristics of the positions was also accompanied by the management of the schedules: rotation, replacement and rest days included. Our knowledge of the Cannes economic area was a real added value for our client.

Amazon was able to count on the operational support of a team of 15 production assistants upstream, during and downstream of the service in order to carry out the final purchases, make appointments with local service providers and assemble small pieces of furniture.

Finally, in order to run the “wellness sessions” for the Amazon guests, our agency provided a yoga teacher, a tai chi teacher and a sound bath animator.

The agency was on site every day and continuously to ensure the general coordination of the teams, the management of breaks… with the permanent presence of an event coordinator.

Conclusion

The stand was well attended, Amazon PORT was a great success. The Cannes Lions organisers appreciated the quality of the welcome given by our team of ambassadors.

Thanks to Amazon’s hospitality and the adaptability of our brand ambassadors, our staff was able to integrate perfectly with the American team. We were able to provide a responsive and operational reception service for the largest stand set up at Cannes Lions 2022.

The operation was a success and will be renewed by our client for a new adventure at Cannes Lions 2023.
